We launched Climatiq in 2021, with data and APIs that now power carbon reporting in hundreds of enterprise platforms including Celonis, IFS, Oracle, and Salesforce. Alongside those APIs, we built Data Explorer for searching and browsing our emission factor database — used by over 30,000 carbon accounting professionals from 170 countries.
But we kept hearing the same thing: sustainability teams don't just need to find data — they need to work with it. Additionally, users can import and use their own private emission factors for internal activities or primary factors from suppliers, creating a single source of truth for every factor their team relies on.
Every factor has a clear, traceable provenance — something AI chatbots like ChatGPT can't guarantee. These tools can surface data fast, but often can't tell you where a number truly came from or whether it will hold up in an audit.
